The football scrimmage has been moved to Monday, Aug. 2nd, at 6:00 at GCHS.
We look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, 8/2! Students' schedules are on PowerSchool. If a paper copy is needed, students can pick one up in the counseling office before school. Bus riders will be dismissed at 11:25 AM, and car riders will be dismissed at 11:30 AM.

GCSSD is currently accepting applications for NEW Substitute Teachers. The substitute training course cost is $29.00. Once you have submitted a completed substitute teacher application, go to gcssd.org >Menu >Quick Links >Substitute Training Course. Please send the certificate at the end of the training course to Brad Garner at GCSSD.

Reminder: Freshmen Orientation is tonight, Tues., 7/27. We'll begin at 6 PM in the theater.
Any GCHS student that missed laptop distribution can pick-up next Tues., 7/27, 12-3:30 PM or Thurs., 7/29, 8 AM - 12 PM. Pick-up will be in the tech office; enter through the CTE building (door behind the home football bleachers). In order to receive a laptop, online registration must be complete, students and a parent/guardian must sign a contract together in person, and a district technology fee of $25 must be paid by cash or check.

Personal devices will not be allowed to be used for the 1:1 Program. GCSSD devices are configured to seamlessly work within our network, ensure complete program/software access, and are designed to be safe and secure through filtering software. Identical devices for all students also allows for ease of material distribution and maintenance/support/repair for teachers, staff, and students.
If you are unable to attend on your assigned pick-up night, an alterative pick-up time will be announced on Friday, July 23. Please check back on regular information outlets for the day and time.

We are excited that GCSSD’s high schools will be transitioning to becoming 1 to 1 schools. Class of 2024: Wed., 7/21, 3-7 PM
Class of 2025: Thurs., 7/22, 3-7 PM

GCSSD is happy to report that we have been selected to participate in the Second Harvest Summer Backpack Feeding Program. This grant is funded by the “Enterprise Rent-A-Car Foundation” and will provide free breakfast and lunch daily this summer beginning Tuesday, June 1 through Monday, June 28, 2021. Food will be sent home with eligible students attending the Summer Learning Camp or may be picked up with food from the cafeteria at Dyer School or South Gibson County Elementary School (SGCES). Food will also be available for pick-up at Dyer School and SGCES on June 21st from 1:30—2:30 by families associated with any school in GCSSD.
